Road Trip to Waco

Image
Waco is just about the coolest place ever! That's in large part to Chip & Joanna Gaines. The silos and bakery at Magnolia are awesome. There's great food, a fun atmosphere, and the cutest merchandise! Warning: picture heavy post! When I went with my mom and sister last week, it was my second time there. The last time I'd gone, we didn't get to go into the bakery because the line was out the door and down the block. But this time we timed it perfectly! We went on a Wednesday right when they opened. There was almost no one there!  We grabbed some breakfast...and dessert from the bakery then made our way over to the shop. I got a delicious gluten free oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that was to die for! I was shocked to see that they offer gluten free items since most bakeries don't. I also got a yummy campfire cupcake because let's be honest, you can't go to there and just get one thing. For those of you that have never been insi...

Living Far From Family & How I Cope

Image
Dress - c/o  Cleo Madison Sweater - c/o  Leander Boutique  (sold out) Boots - c/o White Mountain Shoes  (50% off right now) Growing up, I was always really close to my family; physically and relationship wise. When I moved away to college, I got a little taste of what it was like to be pretty far from family...and it was hard! All the cliches are true. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, you never really know what you have until it's gone, and never take your family for granted. When I moved back home to take a break from school and work, I felt relieved to be near family again!  I met my husband a few months after moving home. We got married a year later and once again, it was time to move away. We moved to a city about 35 miles north of home to attend college.  This move wasn't too difficult because we were still close and could visit our families on the weekends if we wanted to.  Then came the hardest move eve...

Traveling Vibes

Well I'm heading to Dallas today and can't wait to soak up more time with my fam! Shawn is in Guatemala for a dental mission trip with his school and it's freezing and snowy in Boston so I thought it'd be the perfect time to sneak over to Dallas! I totally dread packing for several reasons: I always have that feeling that I'm forgetting something and usually remember it when I'm already on the plane, I never feel like I pack enough and always end up overpacking, and I hate being confined and limited to what can fit in a suitcase! But as I was packing for this trip, I realized that there are always staple items that I pack or bring for almost any trip! Here are ten items I can't travel without! 1) A cozy over-sized sweater : this is a no brainer to me! No matter the occasion of your trip, there's always time to sneak in a little cozy sweater session and snuggle up. Sitting by the fire at a lodge in the mountains, snuggling in bed on a chilly isla...
