My name is Lexi and I’m the face behind the Brown Eyed & Beyoutiful Blog! I’m originally from Washington state, but have since called Utah, Massachusetts and now Texas home. I'm the wife of a dentist, owner of an online clothing boutique and a part time blogger. When I'm not working, I like to explore, go camping, play with my nephews and niece, take pictures, exercise, watch movies and play soccer and volleyball.

My husband (aka my better half), Shawn, is my best friend and the love of my life! He’s originally from Southern Utah, went to dental school in Boston and is now a dentist at a practice here in North Dallas. Shawn’s a workaholic, but when he’s not working he enjoys watching YouTube videos, playing sports, watching Red Sox games and spending time with me! Seriously found myself a gem of a man!

{our story}
Shawn was born and raised in St. George, Utah, a small town about two hours north of Las Vegas. I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. Lucky for us, my parents moved to St. George while I was away at college! Back in August 2010, my friend invited me to play soccer with her and her friends. That's when I met Shawn...and it wasn't love at first sight. We were on opposite teams and neither one of us really paid much attention to the other. Must have been our competitive sides coming out...we were too focused on playing.

Something about him must have stuck out to me, because for the next FOUR MONTHS I tried inviting him to do things with me and my friends, but he always found some excuse not to come. My older sister came into town around Christmas time and wanted to go on a group date, so I set her and my friend up with two guys who happened to be friends with Shawn. I didn’t have a date yet so I thought “What the heck? I'll just ask Shawn." As they say, the rest is history. We dated from December 2010 – July 2011, Shawn proposed to me on the 4th of July and we got married on September 10th, 2011 in the St. George LDS Temple.
From Jan 2012 – May 2014 we lived in Cedar City, UT and
attended Southern Utah University. I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and
Shawn got his in Biology. In February of 2014, we found out that Shawn was
accepted to dental school at Boston University (where we really wanted to go)!
So in July of 2014 we packed up everything we owned and made the long drive out
to the East Coast.
Over the course of the next four years while Shawn
attended school in Boston, we grew as a couple, we grew individually, we saw
beautiful parts of the country that we’d never been to before, we experienced
winters like we’d never known before, we met people who have become life-long
friends and we made a ton of great memories! However, we realized that Boston
is a fun place to live short term, but we didn’t want to settle down and raise
a family there.
A little while before Shawn graduated, we decided that we
wanted to live in the Dallas area so he began applying for jobs and I began
looking for a place to live. Well he found a job and I found…my sister’s house haha. My older sister was
kind enough to let us live with her and her family for a couple months until we
could find a place of our own. The housing market in Texas is nuts, so it was
one of those things where we needed to be here to find what we were looking for.
Those were two of the most fun months ever!
Well we found ourselves a cute townhouse to rent for a
year while we decide where we want to build a house. Shawn is getting
established as a dentist in the area and really enjoys the practice that he
works at. I’m busy running Lexi’s Loft and blogging. Our little life together has
been great so far and I cant wait to see what the future brings our way!
