I know I'm a week late, but we had so much fun celebrating this guy's birthday that I had to post about it! I sure did spoil him! Since he had school that morning and I had to work, I made him a quick but thoughtful breakfast that I knew he'd love...French Toast! After his morning classes he met me for a late lunch and we got some delicious sushi (which he's been craving forever!)  Then he got to go home and take a nap and open presents before we headed north of the city for his birthday dinner with friends. Lucky dog! I got him some earplugs for dentists that protect their hearing from the damaging noise of dental tools. I also got him resistance bands for exercising, a new polo shirt, and a book he's been wanting. Obviously, we let the birthday boy choose the restaurant for dinner....and obviously Shawn chose a steakhouse! We went to LongHorn Steakhouse in Reading with our friends John and Brittney. It was so good! We got stuffed mushrooms a...

Columbus Day Weekend

Image
This last weekend was so fun! We had dinner with some of Shawn's classmates on Friday night. One of them has a BBQ so we grilled up some steaks and they were amazing! I miss being able to grill in a backyard like back home. Yay for steaks and barbecuing!  On Saturday we went apple picking just north of Boston with some friends. The colors have been amazing this fall and this was the cutest little farm. Their apple cider donuts were to die for! New England is quite famous for them and I highly recommend them to anyone traveling this way during the fall! We had a blast playing "fruit ball" (baseball with apples and a stick), picking apples, taking in the views, and spending time with good friends. Earlier in the week Shawn and I had decided it'd been WAY TOO LONG since we'd been camping, so my sweet husband suggested we go over Columbus Day weekend. Gosh I love that man! I was so excited and started looking for campsites or cabins to reserve. ...

Six Flags!

This weekend Shawn and I went to Six Flags New England with our good friends John and Brittney. The weather was perfect! It was Fright Fest and there were so many scary zombies walking around! And the decorations were so cool! I LOVE rollercoasters!

Beach Day

Unfortunately, summer is coming to and end! Shawn and I wanted to get at least one more beach day in, so we packed up the car and headed up to New Hampshire. We ended up at the beautiful Hampton Beach! There were a few people with the same idea as us, so it was a little crowded. We still had a blast though! The water was FREEZING! But that didn't stop Shawn from doing some skimboarding and swimming. It was fun watching him try to skimboard and dodge all the kids at the same time haha! I couldn't have asked for a better Saturday. Sun, sand, waves, and my man!

Labor Day Weekend

Since Labor Day weekend was super close to our anniversary this year, Shawn and I decided to get out of the city and head to the mountains! It was so relaxing and amazing!! I am a true believer that the mountains are therapeutic. Nature has a way of calming my soul and making me so happy! I mean, look at these views. Saturday morning we headed up to New Hampshire. We had about a two hour drive so I tried to think of something we could to make the drive fun and go by fast. So of course I looked on Pinterest haha! I saw a cute idea to ask each other 21 questions about dating, our wedding, our honeymoon, our first year of marriage, etc. It was fun to reflect and share memories. I actually learned things about Shawn I didn't know or had never heard before. I strongly recommend doing it! Here are some of the questions we did. On the way to our resort, we stopped at Franconia Notch State Park to do some hiking. We hiked The Basin  and it was breath taking! The we...
