Some Monday Honesty

Ok let's be honest, Mondays can be awful! Unless it's a holiday weekend, Monday means back to work or school. No more sleeping in. No more lazy days curled up reading a good book. No more spending the day by the pool or at the beach. When you hear your alarm go off Monday morning, you roll over and go back to sleep, you tell yourself five more minutes, and you fight to get out of bed. This is pretty much how I've always viewed Mondays. I LOVE weekends!! Friday has always been my favorite day of the week because I know it means the weekend is here!

So I decided to make myself a tee that says "I'm Not Getting Ready Today" partly to show my stubborn side and partly to lighten my Monday mood! Having my own clothing business is so convenient and handy. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

I admit, every time I wear this shirt I have to laugh a little. It puts a smile on my face and makes the day a bit better! Proves I have a sense of humor! So if you want to brighten up your Monday or just need a good laugh, head over to Lexi's Loft to get yourself one of these tees!

As I was writing this post, my perspective began to change a little. I thought about how I've always viewed Mondays versus how I can start viewing Mondays. As difficult as they can seem, Mondays bring a sense of renewal, a fresh start, and a blank slate. I started thinking about how I can make Mondays less dreadful and a bit easier on myself! Not saying I'm an expert or have it down to a science, but these are some things that have worked for me.

  • MEAL PREP - It can seem intimidating, but I promise it will make your life easier! Start small with maybe just prepping breakfasts for the week. As you get more comfortable, prep some dinners too. It really is a game-changer and will make your Monday run a bit more smoothly! Stay tuned for a post about some meal prep ideas.
  • LAUNDRY - This may be a no-brainer, but I always do my laundry on Saturday or Sunday so all of my clothes are clean for the week. That way I have my pick of what to wear and I'm not stuck with trying to throw something together.
  • CALENDAR - On Sunday I try to use my planner to write out things I have going on that week, make to-do lists, and set reminders for myself. With everything going on in my crazy life, if I don't write it down it either won't happen or I'll totally forget about it! Seriously, Plan out your week! You'll thank yourself Monday morning and throughout the week.

And lastly, some quotes to get you motivated and kick your butt in gear for Monday! Happy Monday!!
