How to Host a Fun Football Party (Stress Free!)

It's almost time for the Super Bowl y'all! That means good football and more importantly, good food. Today I'm sharing how to pull off a fun and easy football party with little to no stress.

Food Food Food
Rule number one of any football party, actually any party really...have plenty of great munchies! I know that this can seem really daunting and overwhelming to a lot of people, but it doesn't have to be. There are plenty of ways to have amazing food and still be able to enjoy your own party!

Try divvying out the responsibilities and sharing the load. Have your guests bring an appetizer or a dessert to share.

Prep as much of the food ahead of time as you can! Things that don't have to be really fresh, get 'em done the day before so the day of the party isn't as stressful. Like veggie dips, salsas, cutting fruit and veggies, etc.

Put your crockpot and instant pots to work! Let them do the cooking for you for things like spinach artichoke dip, meatballs, little smokies, etc.

Consider "pacing the party". Put different kinds of food and snacks out at different points during the pregame/game. You can learn more about this here.

Make Your Home Comfy and Cozy
Everyone knows that football games are crazy long. Add all commercials and the halftime show and it's even longer. So you want to make sure your guests are cozy!

I realize that not everyone has a large comfortable sectional or multiple couches, so if you don't have a lot of couch space provide other comfortable seating options.

One of my friends has these awesome little chairs that were surprisingly comfortable and work for adults as well. You could also do bean bag chairs or large ground pillows.

It'd also be a good idea to have a basket of blankets nearby. Football season means cold weather so some of your guests may want to snuggle up with a soft blanket while they watch the game!

Set Up a Drink Station
The last thing you want to do is run out of drinks or be stuck serving them all night! So set up a little drink station where your guests can grab something whenever they'd like.

Keep it stocked with soda, water, ice, syrups, straws, and anything else you want! Like this!

It could also be cute to do brown solo cups with white laces drawn on like these.

Have a Simple Photo Booth
There's bound to be some fun times and great memories made at football parties...especially a Super Bowl party! So why not set up a place where you and your guests can take some pictures and remember that day forever?!

Keep the background simple, don't spend a lot of time making something fancy.

Add some football props like these or these to make the pictures even more hilarious!

Keep Decorations Simple
I love decorations and think that they really help create a fun environment for a themed get together. However, I'm also a minimalist and all about doing things the easy way! Try to use bowls, plates, serving dishes and decor you already have. Kim from the Tom Kat Studio did a great job doing this and her post is linked here!

You could make a fun football field cloth to put on the table under the refreshments or drinks, like this one.

Another idea is to do a simple banner with a football saying, team names, etc, like this one.

You could also use a letter board to label food or put a cute football quote on like this.

Play Games and Make Predictions
Have some fun games and prizes such as Football Bingo and Trivia or place bets on who will win!

Happy watching!
