Playing Catch Up: February & March

Nothing too eventful happened in February besides Valentine's Day. We are usually pretty low key on V-Day. We swap gifts, have dinner, and Shawn buys me flowers. Simple and sweet!

March, on the other hand, was a crazy month! For my birthday we planned a trip down to NYC to see Jimmy Fallon...and we almost didn't make it. The morning of the show, I couldn't find my driver's license...which you have to have to get into the show. We looked everywhere for about 15 minutes and finally found it! After the four hour drive down, we got into the city and traffic was horrendous! It took us 45 minutes to go nine blocks. We also forgot that it was St. Patrick's Day and Times Square was a joke. Drunk people were everywhere! We had a coupon for a specific garage a couple blocks from the Rockefeller where the show tapes. We got about 200 feet away from where we were supposed to pull in and the police closed the street and said we had to go around. So three blocks and 20 minutes later, we finally got to a place where we could turn left to circle back around and the police said we couldn't turn there and had to keep going straight. We ended up going to a different garage because the detours were taking way too long! Then we tried to find a place to grab some lunch before the show. The only nearby place that offered gluten free food was Chipotle so we headed that way. The line was out the door and took forever, but we finally got some food and made our way over to the Rockefeller!

Once you get to front of the line and show your tickets, they escort you up to a lounge where you wait for about an hour until they take you into the studio. We actually had amazing seats! We were right in the front row of the raised middle section. We could see everything perfectly! The studio is actually a lot smaller than you think. The only guest we knew was Taraji P Henson and she is great! So funny and beautiful in person. We loved every minute! The whole experience was awesome!

At the end of March, I flew to Dallas to visit Kaylyn and Garett and the kiddos. Between a tornado warning, major hail storm, the jelly bean game, and visiting Waco, it was a fun and crazy trip!

"The Jelly Bean Game"...so gross!
Holding my sweet niece Colbie while she sleeps through church :)

The main reason we went to Waco...to visit the Silos!

This place is AMAZING! The Trash Can Rice Bowl is divine!
She's so chubby and adorable!!!

The Silos has the cutest yard games and my sweet nephews loved every minute :)

After visiting Waco, Shawn and I brought Anders to Austin with us to check out some dental offices and the area. Neither of us had ever been to Austin before, but it's on our list of possible areas to live after dental school so we figured we'd better check it out! Austin is a lot more green and hilly than Dallas is, so we really enjoyed the scenery and rolling hills. While Shawn was visiting some practices, I took Anders to the Natural Science Center and he LOVED it!

At the end of our trip, we were having so much fun with Anders and Cam that we decided to bring them back to Boston with us! Just kidding, we had it planned out beforehand! They did so good on the plane and everything went smoothly...until Cam's orange juice exploded coating everything in a sticky mess! The boys were totally flirting with the flight attendant and Cam (2 years old) kept saying "I Love You" to her and she'd wink back. It was hilariously cute!! Go to my next post to read about all the fun we had with these two Yay-hoos!
